The gender equality demonstration, called "A Day Without A Woman," coincides with International Women's Day.

The protest aims to highlight the economic power of women — as well as ongoing problems of discrimination and pay disparity.

On "Outnumbered" today, Meghan McCain slammed the strike, saying that skipping work doesn't demonstrate your value.

"I show my value here at work by showing up every day," McCain said. "I don't know how I show my value by not showing up."

She added that most working Americans can't simply take a day off of work.

"I think it's a luxury of women who are wealthy and do well, where you can take a day off from work. You apparently have childcare at home," McCain said.

She argued that these "modern women's rights" events are more about advancing liberal causes and anti-Trump sentiment than achieving "gender equality."
