Coronavirus: medical staff struggle to get tested as govt says it’s passed 100,000 target - BBC News

The government says it’s reached its goal of 100,000 tests each day for coronavirus. The Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the figure of more than 120,000 tests included 40,000 kits sent by post which may not yet have been used.

However some frontline medical staff say they are still struggling to access tests and critics have called the government’s target a distraction.

Meanwhile new figures have revealed that people living in deprived parts of England and Wales are more than twice as likely to die from coronavirus infection as people in affluent areas.
